Our Timeline
Jeanne Helene Pasquier Legacy
In the heart of the enchanting Loire Valley, Domaine Duveau's story unfolds—a tale of resilience and passion. In 1880, Jeanne Hélène Pasquier revived the abandoned Domaine des Roches Neuves, devastated by grape phylloxera. With unwavering determination, she replanted the vineyard with love and care.
1880
The new beginning
Her son, Denis Molay, embraced innovation, introducing mechanized plowing with a steam tractor in 1913—the first in the region. Today, Domaine Duveau stands as a testament to their enduring legacy, blending tradition and progress in every sip of their exquisite wines.
1913
Glorious Peak
From post-World War struggles, Domaine des Roches Neuves bloomed in the 1950s. Denis, born 1948, led from 1981 after Bordeaux School of Enology. With zeal, he rejuvenated the 20-hectare vineyard, elevating its stature. His wines adorned elite pages and Parisian tables, lifting Le Saumur Champigny's renown. The 1989 and 1990 Capus Medals adorned Denis, honoring his winemaking prowess.
1948
A frozen dream
In 1991, freeze ravaged Denis' vineyard. Undeterred, he sold and sought anew. Guided by Emile Peynaud, he journeyed to Chile. In 1992, with family, a fresh chapter began. By 2000, Domaine Duveau Chile emerged in Curico. Cabernet Sauvignon thrived, triumphing against odds. Denis etched a legacy anew.
1991
Continuing the Legacy
With Denis Duveau's legacy as guide, Grégoire elevated Domaine Duveau. He led since 2006, broadening the range for global appeal. New lands and diverse grapes like Syrah, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc thrived. Export, especially to France, boosted their name. ``The Premium`` and ``Grand Cru`` won European acclaim. Grégoire melds innovation and heritage, five generations deep.
